Police Department

Anthony T. Parrish was sworn in as Elizabethtown’s Chief of Police on April 1, 2016.  Chief Parrish began his law enforcement career in 1988 as an officer with the Greenville Police Department.  Chief Parrish was selected to attend the North Carolina Highway Patrol’s 86th Basic Patrol School in 1990 and upon graduation was sworn in as a trooper and assigned to Robeson County.  During his career with the Highway Patrol, Chief Parrish served in Lumberton, Fayetteville, Asheville, Manteo and Whiteville; and rose to the rank of First Sergeant before retiring with 30 years of creditable service in 2016.

Chief Parrish earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Bladen Community College, an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education Training & Standards Commission and is a graduate of the 56th Session of the Administrative Officers Management Program (AOMP) at North Carolina State University.
